![]() Personally, I was enjoying it so much, that I was flying between stations without using SINZA. You felt like you are actually part of the universe. I started playing the X series back then with Beyond the Frontier. Originally posted by That guy with the Spoon:so the x3 series is bad because no cockpits? In x2 the equipment dock had a external docking bay for m6 ships and even in x3 this is the case for all trading stations where fighter dock internally and ts,tp,tm and m6 use x3's external docking clamp. for equipment docks, super shipyards and race specific headquarter stations but docking like this made it very janky when you dock with a khaak m6, springblossom or hyperion vanguard. With ap we now got some docking bays back. I simply don't get how covering your screen with metal bars and barely see through glass textures enhances the atmosphere when the game lost its atmosphere in so many other aspects as well. and how is the x2 cockpit hud relevant in x3? ships now have more than 2 laser bays and each weapon has its own icon on the side instead of using 3 of the same icons for alpha beta gamma variants of a weapon type. stations no longer have a docking bay in general. the mod just copy and pastes x2's ship cockpit images over your screen and this now all of the sudden enhances the experience?įor me it doesn't because stations no longer have a interior to park your craft in a free bay. I'm sorry but after over 15 years that x3 is old now some people should learn to move on. So the x3 series is bad because no cockpits? Tc still allows for some enjoyable dog fighting while in fl i found myself stripping shields down with 8 pulsed beam emitters from my hyperion and then ramming my targets dead or close to 0 hull and then tell the pilot to give up. it's usually just loot to pick up and sell for some quick bucks at a equipment dock. yea missiles are not that popular in most x games. ![]() It seems to me that you're best off just spamming missiles in ap and fl. when you find yourself wailing longer than necessary on 1 target you'll get eventually swarmed and eat incendiary bomb launchers from several directions or a K could snipe you with a point singularity projector salvo from about 8 km away. In fl the ship fails to kill even a single Q in a timely fashion. it could single-handedly clear a xenon sector in tc and when you can do that the ship could also deal with everything else up to khaak capital ships in lower dosages. Yes, you could argue just take a m7 or even bigger ship but even the agamemnon sucks now. In fl i found that hept didn't do nearly as much damage anymore and cig's aren't that much better either but they have the range advantage so there's that. so it's not that you're invincible that would be using the spring blossom with M/AM launchers. and in numbers the xenon capital ships still pose a threat to the hyperion. Yea it's op when the hyperion can do this but it's fun and enjoyable. by that point you have about half it's shields depleted just rinse and repeat and after 3 goes at it the Q should be done. when you're out you speed off a little and let it regenerate. you just fly up to it head on and dodge incoming fire while you unload your whole laser energy into the Q. In tc the hyperion vanguard can take out a Q with 12 high energy plasma throwers. ![]() There is nothing better a m6 could arm other than plasma bursts but then you'll get wrecked by flak spam. I don't see how it's fun to wail forever on ships even with concussion impulse generators. this is mainly the case because of the laser and hull value changes to ships which they did for ap at some point and these are changes that fl did get inherent as the game is based on ap. I find myself favoring tc above ap and fl. i tried fl but dropped it for now because of the disliked dynamic reputation system and its getting very grindy as well with the reverse engineering and acquiring station blueprints.
